Lazarus String Quartet

The Lazarus String Quartet was founded in 2007 by graduates of the University of Canterbury and accepted into the Masters in Chamber Music course at the Hochschule of Music, Drama and Media in Hanover in 2013. A former winner of the Royal Overseas League Competition, the Yehudi Menuhin Live Music Now Foundation, and the Region Scholarship Hannover, the quartet acknowledges the continued support of the Pettman Foundation. It has recorded with the ProQuartet Organisation in France, performed at various venues in London and at the Edinburgh, Heidelberger Frühling and the Musiktage in Hitzacker festivals. The quartet now comprises members from different countries: Mayumi Kanagawa (USA/Japan) violin, Jos Jonker (Netherlands) violin, Albin Uusijärvi (Sweden) viola, and Alice Gott (New Zealand) cello.
