Sunday 14 April - Lomeiko Watkins Zhislin Trio

Lomeiko Watkins Zhislin Trio

These three award-winning musicians playing violin, viola and piano bring a varied programme of duos and trios by Johannes Brahms, Clara and Robert Schumann – the quintessential ‘circle of friends’ of the 19th century.

Natalia Lomeiko (winner, Michael Hill International Violin Competition and ‘Premio Paganini’), Yuri Zhislin (founder, Camerata Tchaikovsky and professor of violin and viola at the Royal College of Music, London) and Sarah Watkins (three-time winner of the Aotearoa Music Awards Best Classical Artist) reunite for a programme celebrating friendship and virtuosity. Romantic masterworks by Brahms and the two Schumanns are interspersed with evocative fireworks by Szymanowski, along with Shostakovich’s charming 5 pieces for violin, viola and piano. A concert not to be missed!
