Andrew Beer (violin) and Sarah Watkins

Canadian violinist Andrew Beer has performed extensively throughout North America, Europe and Asia. He has played chamber music at Banff, Tanglewood and Aspen, worked with composers Boulez, Kurtág and Reich, and appeared in concert with Midori and members of the Emerson String Quartet. He is now Concertmaster of the APO. Sarah Watkins (piano) was a founding member of NZTrio. A graduate of the University of Canterbury, she holds both MM and DMA degrees in collaborative piano from the Juilliard School in New York, where she later became a staff pianist. She has appeared as concerto soloist with St Matthew’s Chamber Orchestra, the APO, and the Auckland Chamber Orchestra and is official pianist for the Michael Hill International Violin Competition.
