Sunday 27 September - NZ Trio (piano trio)

NZ Trio (piano trio)

This concert was originally to be the Marmen Quartet, but they are unable to travel because of COVID-19. Instead we have the NZTrio concert that was originally to be in June, but had to be cancelled. This is the first appearance in our series of the new NZTrio – Amalia Hall (violin), Somi Kim (piano) and Ashley Brown (cello). Flanked by beloved piano trios by Beethoven and Ravel, the heart of the programme comprises a new work by Salina Fisher and colourful works by two Juno Award-winning composers who have made Canada home. Greek-born Christos Hatzis’ fiery dance-inspired Old Photographs contrasts with the sinuous Middle Eastern and North Indian melodies of Love Triangle by Sri-Lankan-born Dinuk Wijeratene.

How to buy tickets: Single tickets are $40, or $10 for those under 26. A school child attending with an adult who has purchased a full-price ticket is free.
